Brazos. Acrylic on canvas. 24 x 24 inches. (2017). $575–SOLD
The blue hues of water mingle with mossy green and earthy red. As the light reflects off of the water, metallic streaks of gold and copper glisten upon the surface. An homage to the Brazos River, called Rio de los Brazos de Dios (The River of the Arms of God) by early Spanish explorers, it runs from its headwater source in New Mexico through Central Texas, and ends in the Gulf a Mexico. The river remains, as ever, a piece of history and a hope for the future.
