Caroline Camden Lewis. Cousteau Pacific. Acrylic and composition silver leaf on canvas. 12″ x 12″ $ 350–SOLD
This piece is an homage to the late Jacques-Yves Cousteau (1910-1997), French naval officer, oceanographer, filmmaker, photographer, inventor, and co-developer of the Aqua-Lung, the precursor to modern scuba technology. It imagines the first impressions of Cousteau’s Pacific marine explorations, and celebrates his contributions to the study of marine life.
