Melted on a backdrop of 22 karat gold leaf, the coral-colored beeswax and acrylic evoke an image of the fiery, luminescent corals which dwell harmoniously in their ocean home.

Encaustic is an ancient art medium using beeswax, resin and pigment applied to wood at 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
