Known interchangeably as the Giant Redwood and Coastal Redwood, the sequoia sempervirens can soar to an astounding 378 feet tall and can live for 2,000 years.  Located on the North Coast of California, the Redwood National and State Parks provide the misty, humid environment necessary for the growth of these amazing trees.

This small painting imagines a snapshot of the bark from these gigantic trees and honors the natural heritage of our great country.
